How much can I expect to save from one of Hershey Energy's power quality systems?

Historically, our systems generate savings in the range of 7-20% of a customer's electric utility bill. A savings estimate in real dollars can be generated after an initial evaluation of your electric utility bill and transformer specifications (For details, Contact Us, read the "Free Offer Package" section of The Hershey Program, or click here to fill out our Energy Efficiency Program Questionnaire on-line).

Do you guarantee the energy savings in your proposals?

Yes. Provided that specific parameters of your electrical network remain the same before and after installation of our system and provided that you have purchased our Performance Assurance Plan, we guarantee the savings detailed in the "Guaranteed Energy Savings" portion of our Energy Efficiency Report until the project cost for the installation is paid back, provided that the following conditions are met by the owner:

The Hershey System carries a one-year warranty from the date of system commissioning. At the end of the first year, the owner will receive a Performance Assurance Plan (PAP), the intent of which is to assure that the Hershey System is performing optimally. (Please read the "Performance Assurance Plan" section of The Hershey Program for more details about this service)

The energy savings guarantee will automatically be extended until the system payback period, provided the owner has purchased the PAP for each remaining year until system cost payback.

For industrial and manufacturing outfits, the payback is typically a period of about 2 years, and the guaranteed savings amounts to approximately 7.5% of your annual electric utility bill. (A guarantee certificate that describes the conditions of our guarantee in detail is included with each system proposal)

How much does a power quality system cost?

Due to the customized nature of our systems, it is not possible to quote a system cost without prior knowledge of your facility's electrical network and utility costs. However, our systems generally pay for themselves within a two year period. That is to say that the accumulated electrical energy and tax depreciation savings generated by the system will normally pay for the system within two years. Please Contact Us in order to have a representative prepare an estimate for your facility, or click here to fill out our Energy Efficiency Program Questionnaire on-line.

What are the payment requirements?

The payment terms for our systems are as follows:

40% Payable to Hershey Energy Systems upon issuance of a Purchase Order

30% Upon receipt of Materials

30% Upon Project Completion

Can I make payments in monthly installments?

Yes. Hershey Energy Systems can arrange for a "Paid from Savings Plan" that allows a customer to make regular monthly lease payments. This plan uses the ongoing energy savings achieved by our system(s) to support the monthly payments and it typically generates a positive cash flow. In other words, no new dollars are required by using monies presently being paid to your utility company.

Does the cost of a system include installation?

Yes. The project cost quoted in our Energy Efficiency Report includes the cost of installation.

How much does a Power Quality Audit cost?

The cost of a Power Quality Audit ranges in price from a minimum of $800 for a single transformer up to as much as $10,000 or more for multiple transformers. Due to the customized nature of our systems, it is not possible to give an exact cost per transformer without prior knowledge of your electrical network and transformer specifications. Please feel free to Contact Us to have a representative prepare an estimate for your facility, or click here to fill out our Energy Efficiency Program Questionnaire on-line.

Please note that the costs for the Power Quality Audit Service will be credited toward the purchase of any power conditioning equipment recommended by Hershey Energy Systems. Furthermore, if as a result of the audit activity, Hershey Energy Systems is unable to produce recommendations for guaranteed energy savings, all charges for the services rendered will be waived.
